These are some sketches for adobe photoshop.

  1. The first three aren't really working for me. However, I do like the idea of the "urban graffiti splatters" - if you texturize it, it might turn out to be be interesting :)

  2. Quick Comment: You might have a copyright issue on the scrabble idea. I wanted to try something like that for another project but went against it for that reason.

I like the simplicity of your ideas. Using plant like imagery gives the concept of grow which might really be good for the next CS because CS4 just seemed to be a quick output for Adobe after buying the Macromedia. So CS5 might be the perfect chance to display some significant grow in the programs through the packaging art.
That might be something to go off of.

    Good Luck!

  3. i also like the flower concept but wit a new twist to it, maybe by adding a few other elements.
I dont think you should go with the paint splatters etc because its too typical for this program. Maybe the type you choose can be another main element that stands out with the flowers.

    i like #2 layout more than #5.

  4. I think #4 with the photos is very creative, good play on the Ps. I also think that you may need to add a pattern to make the design complete. I also like the #3 you can develop your work through both designs, but maybe can develop something out of #3 but you still need more elements for the design. Good job.

  5. i think that the paint splatters and the pictures are your best bet. Since photoshop is a photo retouching software, you should go with something that will complement that. Paint splatters of maybe various colors might be a good idea as well to try.

  6. the 1st bottom idea of the P S being inside polaroid pictures is interesting... will the actual pics be black inside? I think it might be interesting to have some sort of abstract pic inside and apply some photoshop filter in it.. of maybe they are black and the P S are mask out form some sort or color picture... but how will the other two version of illustrator and indesign will be handle if you use this idea... the one next to it with the flower design coming from the edges is more versatile if you change lets say the flowers to some sort of illustration for illustrator and some magazine layout for indesign coming from the edges as well... i'm not saying you have to do that but this idea is easier to change to other versions of adobe...

  7. My choices would be two or three. I think that the photo idea is a little to obvious and Im think that having ps in scrabble letters will convey the a game-like message. In think that the paint splatter idea will be cool because it is a sort of transition from the liquid theme they have now. Consider knocking the type "photoshop" out of the paint splatter.

  8. what if you make the paint splatters more abstract and out of pixels. kinda like the background you have on this page. i would go with 3, 4 or 5.

  9. I like #3, but I would like to see the splatter morphing into a figure or a shape.

  10. I like the second and third one the most. I agree that the scrabble idea may give the wrong idea that it's a game or something. Also because polaroids are pretty out of date nowadays, consumers may think it's an old version of photoshop? I think the second one would be interesting to see done, moreso than the third one actually.

  11. I really like the paint splatter and the urban graffiti ideas. I think Thomas is onto something with the splatter forming a figure or shape, sounds like a cool idea to explore.
