4th one down. its cool to see some hip hop influence in an adobe product. but the layout of the design is not working. theres's no direction of flow. try having the graphics come out from a corner or have the adobe and photoshop together as one title. also play with the type choice and color so that is compliments the design. maybe gray?
I really like #4 with the craziness. It looks like you just took the eraser tool and went over the pattern when you were upset or something, it looks really cool. The choice of design pattern and where it is placed is really working well, however you still need to develop the layout of the type (where it is placed).
#1 is too girlie and lacking in design. #2 has the most potential. #3 looks like a rock album cover. #4 has potential but it kinda looks like a drafting software with that color palette. #5 is ok. Overall the type needs to be smaller and it needs to be worked on...I'm sure it is just a place holder though. I definitely understand being all over the place with ideas I am the same way.
I think the first 2 designs are the strongest. The other ones are cool looking but kind of confusing - I don't know what's going on with them. Try to work something into the design that conveys the fact that it its an image editing software. Also, you have to consider the adobe logo is going to have to be on there somewhere and you might have to adjust your colors so it doesn't stick out.
I like your last three designs. Going for a grungy look would be new for the CS series. In the past, it has been clean, pretty, and simple. So, I think the direction you have is refreshing. And just having the abbr. for Photoshop would work with your composition. I wouldn't separate Adobe from Photoshop like you have it in your fourth comp.
I think PS need a little kerning...It's nice to see different colors like in number 1 but i don't see the software image editing there yet. the contrats in number 3 are nice too and more of the image feeling... have you try to change the 3 blacks backgrounds for white... white is clean and sophisticated, kind of like adobe... that may be a stupid comparison but any ways... I'm leaning more towards number 2 too, but I almost want to see something more organic in it too to set it appart from vector shapes that belong to Illustrator... Goog exploration!!
4th one down has so much potential. type needs work though. would like to see the variation of the others to really get a sense of how this design fits.
one major conflict is that it is ps, but most of what we see is... vector. you need raster elements in the design.
I think the fourth one is pretty cool. It has a lot going on and is unique and completely different from what Adobe has been doing. The first logo is interesting but I don't think it works for Adobe. It also reminds me of a game (http://www.vgwatchdog.com/gameimages/275px-PixelJunk_Eden_logo.png). The second one makes me think of a music program or something? It just reminds me of speakers.

ReplyDeleteI like the abstract designs you have going on there. Maybe if you can incorporate the title of the software over it, it might unify it a little more.
